Opportunity Details... Help Repair Homes for Families and Seniors in Need

Bonim Builders is a volunteer program developed through UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey. Bonim, which means builders in Hebrew, uses volunteers in hands-on projects to rehabilitate homes and other facilities in northern New Jersey for those in need. Bonims mission is to improve the quality of life for area residents by helping to renovate, repair and refurbish homes for families in need, senior citizens, and those handicapped in the northern New Jersey area. The organization works on its own and in concert with other rebuilding agencies such as Rebuilding Together and Habitat for Humanity. Volunteers of all skills levels are welcome, even those with little or no experience are encouraged to participate! Whether you pick up a saw, hammer, paint brush or drill, volunteers make a difference in our community.

Some of Bonims recent projects include renovating a kitchen in a local men's group , landscaping a courtyard at a local nursing home facility, installing grab bars for seniors, retiling a bathtub for a Holocaust survivor, installing a ramp for a woman suffering from multiple sclerosis, and renovating a bathroom for a single mother.
