Opportunity Details... ESL Teacher
Teach English as a Second Language to a fun, diverse and appreciative group of adult learners! The Arlington Education and Employment Program (REEP) offers volunteer-taught classes out of four community centers in Arlington, VA, and we're looking for new volunteer teachers to join our team. Volunteers plan and teach one class a week. Classes are typically 1.5-2 hours long. Training, teaching resources, and on-going support provided.
Volunteer opportunities exist at various sites and we ask for a commitment of one evening or morning a week for a minimum of three months.
Skills:
Fluency in English (you do not need to speak another language); Interest in working with adult learners in English; Willingness to work with students from different cultural, educational, and economic background; and commitment to planning for and teaching one class a week (2 hours) for at least 3 months.
